About the company
Hi, my name is James!
I founded Karner Blue Landscaping after a career that included eight years in the U.S. Air Force, work in commercial finance, a couple years flatbed semi-truck driving across the lower-48, and a Bachelor’s in Accounting with a minor in Environmental Science (Furman, ’19).
This varied background has given me a diverse skillset, detail oriented mindset, and a strong work ethic. Today, I apply these skills and values to my business as a residential and commercial landscaper, providing customers with beautiful, thoughtfully-managed outdoor spaces.
Though not my first professional job, my entrepreneurial nature extends back to my childhood when I helped my mother with her jewelry business and offered lawn care and car detailing for my neighbors and family as a teenager. In those days it was a way to earn cash for gas and movies on the weekends. Nowadays, it feeds my soul to work outdoors, get my hands in the earth, and connect with the community around me.
My approach is simple – to be great at doing the essentials well. I don’t believe things need to be overly-complicated to look exquisite. Whether your next project is big or small, I focus on the details that add value and are easy to take care of in the long term.
I maintain a sustainable client load to ensure the best experience, as well as reliability and quality over quantity. It is important to me that I provide you with an excellent product and customer service – to care for your home as I would my own.
KBL is a small owner-operated business that maintains a network of connections in the community in order to provide you with the correct expert for your situation, yet keep it simple under a single point of accountability. I serve as the primary and boots-on-the-ground contact for daily landscaping and snow plowing needs. While also working closely with specialized contractors including Board Certified Master Arborists, heavy equipment operators with decades of experience, and professional masons to handle your property’s complex drainage, driveway, retaining wall, or stone and chimney needs.
I provide a straightforward, professional experience for clients who value long term investment. This includes in-person visits, detailed estimates, a multi-year outlook, and honest hands in the dirt.
While my schedule now is focused on my existing long-term clients, I keep room available for small projects and emergency calls when neighbors need help. I also maintain a regular snow-plow route in the winter in the areas of Bethlehem, Littleton, Franconia, and Sugar Hill for residential, commercial, rental, and second properties.
Please don’t hesitate to call if you wish to inquire about availability on my long or short-term calendar. Thank you for taking the time to visit!
